“PUNK TACTICS” from their self-titled debut album went viral in 2022 and laid the foundation for a career in which the duo grew closer, bolder, and louder. This is also reflected in their sound, which blends versatile rap with experimental hip-hop as well as influences from rock, punk, and nerdcore. This also made the duo sought-after collaborators and led to features on songs by IDK, Pendulum, 6ix, ACRAZE, and Apashe.
After touring North America and the UK and performing at festivals such as Gov Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza (Chicago, Paris, and Berlin), Osheaga, and many more, Joey Valence & Brae are hitting the road again with their latest studio album, “HYPERYOUTH.”
Following the sold-out start of their HYPERYOUTH WORLD TOUR, the duo will perform live in Berlin in May 2026 and, according to Jack Saunders of BBC 1, promises nothing less than “the best live show I’ve been to in years.”
Joey Valence & Brae formed in 2021 after Joseph Bertolino (Joey Valence) and Braedan Lugue (Brae) met during their freshman year at Pennsylvania State University. In 2021, the duo debuted with the single “Crank It Up,” followed by “Underground Sound” and “Double Jump,” which quickly solidified their energetic hip-hop sound.
In 2022, their debut EP “The Underground Sound” was released, followed by the single “PUNK TACTICS,” which finally propelled Joey Valence & Brae to breakthrough success. In 2023, the self-titled debut album followed, on which “HOOLIGANG” became the duo’s next hit.
As early as June 2024, the duo released their second album “NO HANDS,” featuring the lead single “THE BADDEST” feat. Ayesha Erotica as well as the fan favorite “OK.”
Following a steady evolution of their music, their third album “HYPERYOUTH,” featuring TiaCorine, Rebecca Black, and JPEGMAFIA, showcases the duo’s most versatile take on the modern hip-hop game to date. But Joey Valence & Brae 2025 have developed a new depth not only musically but also lyrically. Thematically, “HYPERYOUTH” delves deeply into the idea of growing up without actually getting older, demonstrating a lyrical evolution and undoubtedly marking the duo’s most innovative work to date.
