Easter at Gendarmenmarkt
Renowned ensembles—the Berlin Girls’ Choir and the Young Women’s Choir Berlin—will perform at Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt during the holidays.
Good Friday: A Contemplative Commemoration of the Hour of Christ’s Death
The series kicks off on April 3 at 3:00 p.m. with the concert marking the hour of Christ’s death. Under the direction of Patrizia von Palubitzki, the concert choir and vocal consort of the Berlin Girls’ Choir will present Passion works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, and Cécile Chaminade. The singers will be accompanied by Yao Yao Brandenburg on piano and Kilian Nauhaus on organ.
Easter Sunday: Festive Concert at Sunrise
A special experience awaits visitors on Easter Sunday, April 5. As early as 6:00 a.m., the Berlin Girls’ Choir, conducted by Sabine Wüsthoff, will welcome Easter. The Resurrection will be celebrated musically with works by Antonio Vivaldi, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and Miklós Kocsár, accompanied by Kilian Nauhaus on the organ.
