For 15 years, fans of the genre-defying US band Cake have had to wait for a new album – but this year the wait is finally over. This fall, the group, fronted by John McCrea, will release their ninth studio album.
The band will also remain true to their unique traditions live: Instead of an encore, Cake concerts feature a special initiative – as a symbol of environmental protection, a tree will be raffled off among the audience at the end of the evening.
Anyone attending the concert in Berlin this September can therefore look forward not only to masterful songwriting and experimental arrangements – but also, with a little luck, to going home with a new tree.
