Konzert Opernkinder­orchester | Opera Children's Orchestra

In their instrumental lessons at the music schools, the children learn the concert program and then rehearse their parts at the State Opera, supported by members of the Staatskapelle and music teachers from the music schools. Under the musical direction of Giuseppe Mentuccia, all the individual parts are blended into a unified orchestral sound. Over a period of nine months, the children regularly develop their musical skills and learn to take responsibility as part of a large group, creating music together.

To conclude the program, the Children's Opera Orchestra performs several narrated concerts for school classes and families in the State Opera's Great Hall, together with renowned artists. In this way, the children work on musical literature that is usually played by professional orchestras, experience the operation of an opera house up close and are given the opportunity to grow with the challenges of playing in an orchestra.
