Art in public space
Since 2010, temporary artistic projects have been realized on the Marzahn Promenade as part of an annual art competition. The theme is the place itself.
Pfelder - "ZUHAUS"
Duration: until December 1st 2018
Location: Marzahner Promenade/Franz-Stenzer-Straße 37
On a balcony at Franz-Stenzer-Straße 37, the green luminous ZUHAUS lettering appears, which is broken down into its various aggregate states by alternating switching. Thus the different facets of the living and quality of life at the Marzahn Promenade are illuminated and the interface between the very private and the very public is thematized. At the same time, a piece of concrete poetry emerges that stands day and night as an unobtrusive sign of the feeling of the inhabitants of this place.
Christian Hasucha - "Marzahn rises"
Duration: until November 3rd 2018
Location: Marzahn Promenade 26
An ordinary tree border on the Marzahn promenade near house number 26 is doubled within the framework of a publicly visible and perceptible building site event, exactly 40 cm above the "model". This creates the irritating impression that the tree may have risen. The spatial ascent movement creates an unusual perspective and opens up a wide range of new uses.
Hans Ticha - "Playing figures with seating landscape"
Duration: permanent
Location: Marzahner Promenade/Franz-Stenzer-Straße 27
In 2008, the Marzahn Promenade qualified for the project funded by the "Active Centres" programme of the federal and state governments, which also financed this redesign and renovation project, which also promotes art in public spaces.
