Cultural Salon

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an applied scientific discipline that is based on the theory and practical experience of Chinese medicine and examines the laws of transformation of health and illness in the human body as well as methods of prevention, diagnosis, therapy, rehabilitation and health care.

TCM is based on a long history and a wealth of practical experience. In 2010, acupuncture, as a sub-area of TCM, was added to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

At the same time, the classic TCM texts "The Yellow Emperor's Book of Internal Medicine" (Huangdi Neijin) and "Book of Healing Herbs" (Bencao Gangmu) were added to the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage. The important position and cultural influence of TCM is now recognized and spread worldwide.

As part of this cultural salon, guest speaker ZENG Jinlin will offer valuable insights into TCM and share his theoretical knowledge and practical treatment experience with us. Those interested will gain insights into the basics and core concepts of TCM, the description of the causes of diseases, diagnostics and treatment methods such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tuina massages, cupping and moxibustion.

The exhibition will also look at how people can influence their bodies in a health-promoting way through targeted nutrition and exercise practices as well as activity and rest phases.
