NY Theremin Society Presents at the Synthesizer Museum Berlin

In cooperation with the New York Theremin Society, the Synthesizer Museum Berlin presents a workshop programme featuring the internationally renowned musician Dorit Chrysler.

The focus will be on the theremin, an instrument which, thanks to its contactless playing technique, bridges the gap between early electronic sound generation and contemporary performance.

The workshops offer a theoretical introduction to the physical principles of calibration and sound control, as well as practical approaches to artistic application in modern music production.

The programme comprises a two-hour intensive workshop on 6 March, focusing on in-depth playing techniques, and a compact introductory format on 7 March, providing low-threshold access for beginners with no prior knowledge.

Given the growing significance of digital and electronic forms of expression in Berlin's cultural landscape, this programme highlights the importance of hands-on, experimental learning processes at the intersection of technological history and contemporary artistic practice.
