The children of the Kolibri elementary school in Hellersdorf have been working with the artist Josephine Hans in the studio for their own painterly position for a year. Free painting enables them to discuss their topics, express their interests and express this artistically.

Josephine Hans is a painter, costume and set designer and a scholarship holder of the Brandenburg Gate Foundation. Since August 2020, the foundation has provided the artist with a room in the Kolibri primary school as part of the Max Atelier grant. There she pursues her own art and meets the children in her everyday school life.

The exhibition "Kolibri Blick" shows a selection of the children's works over the past year. Since not all pictures can be shown, the presentation takes place without naming them.

TO LOCATION:
The pyramid exhibition center was designed by the architects Ralf Schüler and Ursulina Schüler-Witte. ICC (International Congress Centrum) won the competition of the new Town Hall building for the Berlin-Hellersdorf district in the early 1990s.

On the site Riesaer Str. / Corner Jenaer Str. Stood at that time the unfinished shell of the still planned in GDR times Hellersdorfer police headquarters. It was exciting that this shell had to be included in the planning of the new building. The town hall was then never used, because the district parliament decided differently and its town hall in the "Hellen Mitte", built in the mid-1990s district center Hellersdorf, but stayed.

It opened in 1994 as a municipal exhibition center with a show Berlin sculptors of their doors. Since then, around 200 exhibitions have been presented here and concerts and performances have been organized.
