Exploration(s) of the memorial and exhibition site Cemetery of the March Fallen.

Why was August Bebel arrested on his way to the cemetery? Who has politically appropriated this place since 1848, when and for which narratives? What does the death of a maid have to do with democracy? And when do scissors become a policeman's most important tool in the cemetery?

As part of the walk through the memorial and exhibition site Cemetery of the March Fallen, the particpants will discover traces of the history of democracy and begin to share stories that will be collected throughout the program year and presented in an exhibition in the fall.

Participation is free of charge. Please register for just one of the two dates: Saturday, 21.3.2026, 11 am - 1 pm or Sunday, 22.3.2026, 2 pm - 4 pm.

Location: Exhibition and memorial site Cemetery of the March Fallen in Volkspark Friedrichshain, Ernst Zinna Weg 1, 10249 Berlin
