A small town on the German-Czech border – and an instrument that conquered the world: For generations, Klingenthal was a center of accordion manufacturing. From here, the name Weltmeister resonated across all continents. Today, the town represents change, loss – and new stories.
With his text "Klingenthal and the World," author Florian Werner embarks on a literary quest. Carefully, precisely, and compellingly, he paints a panorama of a largely forgotten small town and its people – those who live, work, and make music there.
Together with Goran Stefanovich, the "magician" of the accordion, he opens the concert series "Global Sound Stories – Accordion Meets Literature." Word and sound merge into a multifaceted evening about origin, identity, and the power of an instrument that connects worlds. Starting with a portrait of Klingenthal, Stefanovich also tells the story of his own instrument – personal, virtuosic, and full of passion.
