Many Voices is an international music format by Jocelyn B. Smith that makes the voice tangible as a source of connection, responsibility and social change.
Berlin is a city of diversity: people from over 190 countries of origin live here, with hundreds of languages, cultural influences and life stories. This diversity shapes urban coexistence – and at the same time raises the question of how differences can lead to connection.
The stories we tell ourselves and others shape our reality. This is exactly where Many Voices comes in.
The format creates spaces in which people can hear their own voices again, use them consciously and experience how diversity can give rise to a common sound for humanity, peace and the future.
The focus is on the voice – not only as a means of musical expression, but also as a mirror of inner attitude and a bridge between people. Music is not consumed, but experienced: as a collective practice of presence, compassion and conscious self-awareness.
Many Voices combines personal self-awareness with communal experience and a social dimension. The format consists of two parts that build on each other.
