Since 2023, sosocamo has been delivering his own melodic take on Southern rap – characterized by catchy pop melodies and his own production.
Starting his way up from the North Carolina underground, he built a career with emotional range and experimental vocals on his debut album, "no service," which recently led him on a headline tour across the US and laid the foundation for his next album, "Big Country."
The lead singles "200" and "say dat" already set the tone for his new work in 2025, while the current single, "run it," heralds an even broader, more energetic sound within his ever-expanding artistic universe.
With the release of his album in 2026, the 22-year-old will embark on The Big Country Tour – which will, of course, include a stop in Berlin in May.
From rural North Carolina to the big stage: Barely out of high school, he was already recording himself, producing for friends, and collecting countless song ideas. At 19, he met producer Grayto, who not only became his partner but also introduced him to the world of underground rap, working with artists like Yeat, Ken Carson, OsamaSon, and PartyNextDoor.
His debut EP, "SCREENS," was released in 2023, followed by "no service" in 2024. Across 13 tracks, sosocamo explored North Carolina rap, having previously achieved initial success with the singles "keep steady" and "soulless."
From Home Studio to Professional Sound
The nights spent in his home studio became increasingly professional: Sosocamo experimented with sounds, funding upgrades out of his own pocket, until he was finally able to work in studios with producers like Synthetic, Taz Taylor, Bakkwoods, and Rio Leyva. This resulted in "Big Country," his second album, which showcases a sound that is more powerful, energetic, and versatile than ever before.
