Journey Through Life EU Tour
Raised in Lagos, the musician enriches his Afrobeat style with R&B, rock, and hip-hop influences. He has even collaborated with American hip-hop artists such as Mos Def and Common. Since his debut album, "No Cause For Alarm," his lyrics have consistently been critical of those in power and exposed injustices. Femi Kuti doesn't shy away from topics like racism, oppression, and injustice.
He develops the Afrobeat genre once invented by his father in a way that Fela Kuti was unable to: Femi Kuti speaks out against sexism and drugs, contrary to his father's views.
Born in London in 1962, Femi Kuti, son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and grandson of suffragette Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, inherits a significant legacy.
Furthermore, Femi Kuti is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and part of the #ForEveryChild campaign, which advocates for educational equity in Africa.
