Together, they explore questions like: How are sounds created? What does a room sound like? What is music made of? And who or what is this mysterious TIRILI? Two performers visit kindergartens or perform in the foyer of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and explore the sounds of the space with the children.
For "Expedition TIRILI," they usually travel light and without elaborate sets to kindergartens in Berlin and Brandenburg. Now, for a few performances, "Expedition TIRILI" is also stopping in the balcony foyer of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, inviting children to experience sounds on the sand-colored carpet and brightly colored cushions.
Children are a wonderful audience: open, curious, and enthusiastic. They don't miss curtains or orchestra pits and have no fixed idea of how an audience should behave. They are born explorers. And two musicians accompany them on this musical-theatrical journey of discovery. Together, they ask themselves: How are sounds created? What is music made of? Who or what is this mysterious TIRILI?
For "Expedition TIRILI," they collaborated with TUKI and children from the Kastanienallee daycare center. The children experimented with sounds and themes at the daycare beforehand, and this process was incorporated into the development of the performance.
