Life and living 200 years ago: Insights into a Berlin architect's household

Many of his buildings still characterize the Berlin cityscape today: Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781-1841) was the most important architect of his time. But who belonged to his family? And how was his apartment in the Bauakademie, which he created, furnished? The latest research provides information about everyday life with the Schinkel family.

Dr. Jan Mende, curator of the Museum Knoblauchhaus, will guide you through the permanent exhibition in the Museum Knoblauchhaus. On the tour through living rooms furnished true to the original from the Biedermeier period, you will learn more about how Schinkel lived at that time. The tour is supplemented by a lecture and the opportunity to talk to the curator.
