The performance juxtaposes the pioneering madrigal art of Carlo Gesualdo and Claudio Monteverdi with the poetry of Charles Baudelaire.
The intertwining of late Renaissance harmony and symbolist aesthetics creates a dialogue about the human experience of limits, shedding light on the enduring significance of melancholy and new beginnings in European cultural history.
Performances will take place on 14 and 15 February 2026 at Kapelle99 in Berlin's Friedrichshain district.
Designed as a 'moving concert', this format breaks down the separation between the ensemble and the audience, creating a dynamic resonance space for the pieces performed.
