To coincide with Berlin Art Week, Fluentum presents A Bug’s Life, the first institutional solo exhibition in Germany by Berlin-based artist Arash Nassiri.
Created in collaboration with the Chisenhale Gallery, London, and the Fondation Pernod Ricard, Paris, the work takes viewers on a surreal journey through a magnificent Beverly Hills villa—a rare example of Iranian diaspora architecture that emerged in the US after the 1979 revolution.
In the film of the same name, a wooden insect moves through the palatial interior, capturing fragments of conversation that reveal the house as a site of fantasies of upward mobility, social boundaries, and overlapping personal and architectural narratives.
Following its premiere in London, A Bug’s Life will travel to Paris and then to Fluentum in Berlin.
