Concerto for violin and guitar
Under the motto "Musica from the South", the duo Katrin Ambrosius (violin) and Thomas Etschmann (guitar) combine sometimes soulful, sometimes rousing sounds from Spain, Italy and Argentina.
In the concert, violin virtuoso Katrin Ambrosius and master guitarist Thomas Etschmann whisk the audience away to the evocative soundscapes of George Bizet's "Carmen Fantasy" and travel through Spain with the musical landscape descriptions "Danzas espanolas" by Enrique Granados and Isaac Albeniz.
The highly virtuosic works of Manuel de Falla and Niccolo Paganini round off the program together with the music of the master of the bandoneon, Astor Piazzolla. The duo captivates the audience with the soulful sounds of Mediterranean flair in many facets, as well as with rousing tango rhythms.
