A musical play about growing up, family and the bigger picture
"Krach & Keks" is a play about growing up in times of change – and the power to reinvent oneself without losing everything.
- What does family feel like?
- What holds it together – and what tears it apart?
- What happens when illness, poverty, or violence invade the home?
- And where do children find their own voice between love, expectation, and anger?

Additional information
Philipp Harpain directs the play's development and, together with the author and the ensemble, opens up spaces in which the actors play, sing, argue, laugh, and ask questions.
There is music for the unspeakable and for hope. And sometimes there is just a lot of noise!
In "Krach & Keks," the universe of family is explored playfully: with open eyes, alert bodies, and courageous hearts.
Pillows fly through the air – a vibrant stage space is created – touching, wild, honest.
And in the midst of it all, we search for the whereabouts of children's rights in the home environment.
The play is based on 30 stories written by students in 2024, which were presented as part of the 30 Years of Morgenstern festival with a festival of 30 stories, as well as workshops with school classes in which ways to ensure compliance with children's rights were explored.
The 30 stories are available for download here.
