Hannah Arendt in the context of our time

Half a century after her death, Hannah Arendt remains omnipresent – as a source of quotations in intellectual debates, as a leading figure on questions of nation, totalitarianism, and violence. Thought is dangerous, she said. Dangerous for whom, they ask.

Is female thought still particularly dangerous? What does political and philosophical thought mean today – even in exile in the US? What would Hannah Arendt say about Donald Trump? Or about the war between Israel and Hamas?

Perhaps this thinker left behind a structural analysis of authoritarian violence that thwarts all ideological one-sidedness and calls for a vita activa of world love.
