Expert tour with chemist Dr. Jens Bartoll, SPSG
The view of the two Artemisia paintings was sharpened under the microscope and with the help of modern spectroscopic methods. Based on the chemical elements and compounds identified, we were able to learn a lot about the creation and alteration of the paintings.

This means that the images can now be dated more precisely; it is known that Tarquinius had three faces and that the sky above Bathsheba once shone in bright blue.
