Harry Timmermann, born near Güstrow and raised in Wuppertal, now lives in Brandenburg, after 30 years in West Berlin. Here, he studied and taught German, worked as a lecturer, radio author, and night watchman, before discovering klezmer music, picking up his clarinet, and founding the group Harry's Freilach in 1992, with which he has since performed privately and publicly in various ensembles.

Serhiy Lukashov from Poltava (Ukraine) studied at the conservatory there and worked with the Poltava Philharmonic. He has lived in Berlin since 2007, playing international folk music, occasionally performing in circuses, and increasingly with Harry's Freilach.

Harry's Freilach has been playing klezmer music, the wonderful celebration and dance music of Eastern European Jewish origin, for over 30 years.

The melodies are joyful and dance-like, melancholic and pensive, or tragic and expressive, sometimes solemn, sometimes wild and desert-like, but always with a special intensity.

Admission is free, donations are welcome.
