Choir with large organ in the Philharmonic Hall

In this concert, the choir remains true to its artistic mission: to combine sacred and secular music, the familiar and the contemporary, in surprising ways.

With Antonín Dvořák's Mass in D Major (1887) and Naji Hakim's "Messe Solennelle" (1999), two works from different centuries – both written for choir and organ – come together.

The program is complemented by secular choral music by Johannes Brahms and Thomas Hennig:

While Brahms set Romantic poetry to music in his Frauenchoren (Women's Choirs) (1860), two pieces from Hennig's collection "Geminids 23" (2024) address current social issues and make a strong musical statement for women's rights – in Kurdish and Persian.
