Today, this enchanting island is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll along winding paths through pristine nature, admire over 400 ancient oaks, and relax in the tranquil atmosphere of Berlin’s oldest rose garden. The ferry offers a peaceful journey to the island, with lovely views as you cross the water.
Peacock Island Palace
Built in 1794 as a rural retreat in a timber-frame style, Pfaueninsel Palace was later referred to as a “crumbling Roman country house.” Inside, visitors will find original neoclassical interiors that offer a rare glimpse into aristocratic life around 1800. Guided tour tickets are only available on the day of your visit and must be purchased on-site.

Step into a charming pastoral scene and explore the Meierei’s historic dairy room, complete with an original wooden butter churn and intricate peacock-shaped butter molds – all free of charge.
