Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Aivis Greters, Elisabeth Leonskaja

George Walker was the first African-American Pulitzer Prize winner for music. His "Lyric for Strings," dedicated to the memory of his enslaved grandmother, combines grief and hope in a quiet, touching soundscape.

Aivis Greters conducts Strauss's monumental "Alpine Symphony" with his own signature – a musical mountain hike full of the forces of nature, moments of joy, and inner contemplation.
