Special guided tour with palace employee Magdalena Lauche, SPSG
With the "Edict of Potsdam" in 1685 under the Great Elector Frederick William, the settlement of Prussia by religiously persecuted people began.
They are given land, work and religious freedom and continue to shape the landscape and vocabulary to this day. Under Elector Frederick William and the kings Frederick I, Frederick William I and his son Frederick II, Huguenots, Dutch, Salzburgers and Bohemians settled here. This is not only tolerant, but also economically sensible, in the spirit of the pragmatic Calvinist Frederick William I, whose favorite castle you visit.
