Following Bowie and Bruckner, this year's ‘Schall&Rausch’ brings together the music of Nick Cave and Franz Schubert.

The album ‘Tender Prey’ by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, recorded in Berlin in 1988, experiences a romantic-symphonic synthesis: The orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, conducted by General Music Director James Gaffigan, combines the night-black death wish of a post-punk junkie with the world-weariness of Franz Schubert's lonely wanderer from the song cycle ‘Winterreise’, composed in 1827.

  • Musical director: James Gaffigan
  • Tenor: Matthias Klink
  • Performed by the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin
