KÖNIG GALERIE was founded in 2002 by Johann König and exhibits works by international contemporary artists.
The KÖNIG GALERIE has its origins in Berlin. It has grown into a powerful stage for contemporary art with an impact far beyond the city's borders. Since its foundation in 2002 by Johann König - initially under the name "Johann König, Berlin" - it has seen itself as a place where both the works of the new generation of artists and the positions of established artists are presented.
The gallery's programme focuses in particular on the younger generation of artists: it combines disciplines, transcends genre boundaries and consistently pursues conceptual questions. Sculpture and painting, video and installation, printmaking, photography and performance unfold a multifaceted panorama of artistic forms of expression. This diversity reflects the gallery's self-image: not just to show works, but to open up spaces for thought and experience.
