Where the queer scene celebrates

Christopher Street Day draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to Berlin each year. But the city offers the LGBTQ+ community far more than just one big summer event—there’s a vibrant programme of parties, bars, and cultural happenings all year round. From sprawling clubs to intimate bars and legendary party series, Berlin’s queer nightlife is always alive.

One of the best-known institutions is SchwuZ in Neukölln. With several dance floors, the iconic Pepsi Boston Bar, and rotating shows featuring Berlin’s most famous drag queens, it’s a cornerstone of the scene—though currently facing financial struggles.

Internationally renowned venues like Berghain with its Panorama Bar, the hedonistic KitKatClub, and SO36 in Kreuzberg, where the long-running Gayhane party has been uniting the queer community for decades, further cement Berlin’s reputation as a queer capital.

Another highlight is Clärchens Ballhaus in Mitte, a historic dance hall that regularly hosts queer dance nights and community events. Monster Ronson's Ichiban Karaoke on Warschauer Straße, known for its karaoke booths, drag shows, and queer-themed nights, also holds cult status.

Beyond permanent fixtures, Berlin’s scene thrives on iconic party series: PORNCEPTUAL, merging queer techno and art; the sex-positive Revolver Party; and GEGEN, famous for its radical inclusivity. Cocktail d’Amore turns Sundays into euphoric, hedonistic celebrations, while Buttons embodies boundary-pushing queer club culture. Girls Town, a FLINTA*-focused event, has also become a firmly established name on the city’s nightlife map.

Today, you can go out queer almost anywhere in Berlin. The city thrives on diversity, openness, and a love of experimentation—making every nightout here an unforgettable experience.
