Flower Tower

Vertical garden on the facade in Berlin-Marzahn-Hellersdorf

The "Flower Tower", currently the highest work of facade art in Europe, proves that prefabricated buildings can also be colourful. The French street art group "CitéCréation" designed the façade and ground floor with landscape motifs from all over the world. The inspiration for the artistic design came from the green surroundings and the "Gärten der Welt" in the district Marzahn. In addition, the building has a glass tower, which opens the view to the sky.

The Flower Tower is an extraordinary example of urban greening and sustainable architecture. The residential high-rise on "Allee der Kosmonauten" can be seen from afar. Not because of its height, but because of its bright green façade made up of hundreds of plant pots that frame the building from bottom to top.

Architecture meets nature
The Flower Tower is an example of a new combination of living, nature and the city. Its planted balconies are designed to remain green all year round and act as natural privacy screens and sun protection. The plants filter fine dust, improve air quality and promote biodiversity in the centre of East Berlin.

Sustainability you can touch
The building is a popular destination for architecture enthusiasts, students and environmentalists who want to experience sustainable urban development up close. Especially in spring and summer, the tower blossoms in lush green, symbolising the ecological future of living in the big city.

Neighbourhood tip
A walk along "Allee der Kosmonauten" will take you to the Gardens of the World or to the neighbouring Eichepark, the ideal place to experience nature and urban architecture in transition.
