Seven attractive young people meet on an ordinary meadow in Italy to hang out, tell stories, and flirt with one another. They’re all a bit unsettled, having just escaped the plague. They think everything is fine, that they’re safe now… or are they? Each tells the others a story, and in the process, truths about femininity and masculinity, love and desire come to light.
The play asks, “Can it be exciting in any way when the world is ending?” while simultaneously reflecting on the power of storytelling in times of upheaval.
The European premiere of “Great Thing Going” returns to Theatre Pool following sold-out performances in July 2025.
