Orchestral works with a political background by Heinrich Schütz, Alessandro Ragazzi, Antonio Vivaldi, and George Frideric Handel.
This concert is dedicated to the political entanglements in which music has always taken a stand. Military conflicts could have serious consequences for musicians. They often had to adapt to the political stance of their patrons—be it in the libretto, musical language, or position.
