A Childhood in Song
Songs people learned as children are often indelibly etched in their memory—listening to them evokes memories of special moments and loved ones. These emotions are especially intense for those who had to leave their homeland.
In creating her new program, Syrian singer and oud player Waed Bouhassoun has invited the members of her ensemble Orpheus XXI, who hail from different countries and cultures, to share the music of their childhood with each other and with the audience to jointly relive precious memories.
