Interaktives Musiktheater für kleine und große Menschen sowie Außerirdische – von DieOrdnungDerDinge
Almost 50 years have passed since NASA’s “Voyager Mission” transported information about the earth into the cosmos in 1977. The ensemble for modern musical theatre DieOrdnungDerDinge has now decided: It’s time to make contact with space again and update this information.
The ensemble presents the premiere of a musical lecture performance for young and old (from age 8 upwards) in Radialsystem at the end of February, telling the story of the “Voyager Mission” and searching for sounds and songs with its audience which best depict the world today. Three performers play the musical repertoire that was sent to space on the “Golden Record” back then, and decide: it needs updating.
The mission: How do you explain to an alien what a human is? What constitutes an accurate portrayal of the earth and its people? And this time, children’s perspectives will be represented on the intergalactic music compilation too. To this end, the ensemble absorbs impulses and ideas from the audience, spanning a musical arc from classical violin to digital soundscapes composed live in the moment. At the end of a communal countdown, the image and sound documents created during the performance are sent off into space with a loud bang.
