Go on a visual time journey from the 12th century to the present day. A collage of still images and films shows not only the history and function of the buildings that once stood on this site, it also highlights the important events that took place here. It proves that the site served as a prestigious, symbolically charged and often controversial centre of power for centuries.

Princes and politicians tore down, converted and rebuilt structures in order to express their political ambitions and visions. The design of the exhibition room too, with its raw concrete walls, alludes to the fact that the site has always been a work in progress in the service of power.

With the Video Panorama, the Humboldt Forum offers an introduction to the History of the site. The Sculpture Hall, the Palace Cellar and the exhibition Flashbacks, distributed decentrally throughout the building, complement this access.

For those who want to delve even further into history, the ehibition Berlin Global and the exhibition Impressions. The Brothers Humboldt provide further exciting impressions.

For those who want to find more information about the history of the sight, the store in the Humboldt Forum is recommended or visit the online store with a selection of titles and catalogs.
