Book presentation

In his photographic work *For 1500*, Valentin Wedde examines the changes in Berlin's urban space as a result of densification and redesign through modern construction projects. He focuses on the ubiquitous CAD renderings that present visions of the future of new buildings at construction sites.

Valentin Wedde's images reveal the ambiguity of these visual montages. Behind them lies a narrative in which the renderings conceal processes of gentrification and displacement.

The book pays particular attention to the reactions of the urban population to these transformations. The photographs document urban interventions in the "skin" of advertising banners. These signs of resistance, which come to life in Wedde's works, embody the struggle of those who feel excluded from profit-oriented construction projects. *For 1500* is a visual exploration of the subtle and overt mechanisms of urban development.

The book was created in close collaboration between Malte Wetzig and the artist, with Malte handling the layout, image editing, and printing. It is being published to coincide with an exhibition.
