Faces, the collaborative project of percussionist Sabrina Ma and violist Nikolaus Schlierf, is a dense sonic web of poetry and virtuosity. Both musicians demonstrate robustness and fearlessness, performing with both seriousness and lightness, and above all, celebrating the humanity that emerges through their compositions. Faces is joyful, challenging, and thoroughly rewarding.
