Completely uprooted, he sets off in his old Renault on an aimless journey that takes him back to his past: to his hometown of Hoyerswerda and his long-forgotten, tragic romance with the young musician Inken. Kristof Kannegießer was born in Halle/Saale in 1977 and grew up in Kleinmachnow. He studied German and journalism at the Free University of Berlin and then documentary film at the Film Academy in Ludwigsburg. Since 2010, he has been working as a documentary filmmaker, television journalist and cameraman, mainly public television, as well as a lecturer in the “Screen Based Media” course at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. Kristof Kannegießer lives in Wandlitz with his wife, children, dogs, cats, horses and donkeys. “Das Licht zwischen den Weiden” is his first published novel.
