A musical-literary cabaret piece

Two people meet in the "today." Two fates – foreign yet related. She is an older woman, once an immigrant from a declining country, with memories of a lost homeland, linguistic breakdowns, and a past that never fully healed.

Of memory, exile, hope – and the power of music

He is a young man, a recent refugee from present-day Russia – searching for identity, peace, and a future.

Their encounter is a confrontation between past and future – between loss and hope, war and longing, speechlessness and music.

In an atmospheric collage, texts, songs, and scenes converge – by authors and composers whose works are overshadowed by exile, resistance, and awakening:

Kurt Tucholsky, Erich Kästner, Masha Kaléko, Hanns Eisler, Friedrich Hollaender, Blandine Ebinger, as well as world-famous songs by Marlene Dietrich and Zarah Leander are performed live and newly interpreted.

"Today Between Yesterday and Tomorrow" is not a mere revue, not a nostalgic program – it is a dialogue between times and realities of life. Between the voices of the 1920s and 1930s and the biographies of today. Between writers in exile and people on the run. Between the art of language and sound, drama and survival.

An evening that will resonate.
