The event will take place as part of the Open Monument Day at the Fontane Pharmacy(Mariannenplatz 2, 10997 Berlin).

The Fontane Pharmacy is located in the Diakonissenkrankenhaus Bethanien and is now part of the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum. Theodor Fontane took up his post here as a "poisoner" in the turbulent revolutionary year of 1848. But peace and quiet prevailed at Bethanien and the poet enjoyed his last year as a (writing) pharmacist among the pious deaconesses and their patients. The pharmacy still has its original furnishings - with vessels from contemporary
collections.

  • On the Open Monument Days(September 13 and 14), the pharmacy will be open from 14:00-18:00

  • Lectures on "Theodor Fontane and the Bethanien Hospital" will take place at 15:00 and 17:00 .Translated with DeepL
