by Kim de l‘Horizon
Kim de l'Horizon's debut play teems with fantastical creatures—including a dwarf cuttlefish, a centaur, and a birch tree. Together with (un)usual humans, they are trapped in a side arm of a monster's stomach and compete against each other in contests to fight for their freedom.
This wildly lyrical text, originally directed by Olivier Keller at the Schlachthaus Theater Bern, is now being presented in Berlin for the first time. It revolves around identity, environment, and relationships, grappling with terminology through street slang and neologisms. In this surreal setting, everything is at stake. And everyone must play along to escape this uncanny world—and with it, their imposed labels and preconceived identities. Will they succeed in creating an immense intensity, so vast, so immense, that it could tear a hole in the space-time continuum?
