A walking concert in aid of Berliner Tafel e.V.

For the second time, the Bundespolizeiorchester (Berlin Federal Police Orchestra), conducted by Gerd Herklotz, will be performing at the Kraftwerk Berlin on Köpenicker Straße in Mitte.

Under the name ‘Tafelmusik zum Advent’ (Advent Table Music), musical worlds will collide on 14 December 2025: the Kraftwerk as a venue for contemporary electronic music, such as the Berlin Atonal festival, and the Federal Police Orchestra, which otherwise tends to perform at public festive occasions.

The Federal Police Orchestra has always seen itself as a bridge builder – in this case to the Berliner Tafel, which will receive all proceeds from the concert.

Visitors can expect a special sound, listening and spatial experience on the third Sunday of Advent.

The programme for the walking concert through the power station includes works by Robert Wells & Mel Tormé, John Mackey, Eric Whitacre, Richard Wagner, Benjamin Britten, ABBA, Pat Metheny, Elton John, Anton Bruckner, Gabriel Fauré and Led Zeppelin, among others.

During Advent, there will of course also be coffee and cake, served by the Faktura gGmbH kitchen in the neighbouring Rungestraße.

All this is made possible by the Tresor Foundation Berlin, which is dedicated to promoting art and culture as a social connecting force and is responsible for setting up and coordinating the entire project. It is supported in this by the event agency die wellenmaschine.
