Persecuted people in the Nazi era, their books and their stories

The guided tour leads from the Berlin City Library along historical sites, such as the former salvage site, the Humboldt Forum and at the site of the book burning, to the State Library.

In the process, participants discover how present the stories of those persecuted during the Nazi era still are in Berlin today and where the places are where the looting was carried out and organized.

Additional information
The ZLB's holdings include books that were seized from their rightful owners in one way or another during the Nazi era between 1933 and 1945. The provenance research team is tracking down this looted Nazi property in order to return it to its original owners or their heirs. On Provenance Research Day, the team will draw attention to this work and provide insights.
