Concert featuring the sporanist Pervin Chakar

The Kurdish-German soprano Pervin Chakar is not only a refined interpreter of the operatic repertoire, but also of the musical heritage of her homeland, which she strives tirelessly and with great dedication to promote.

Pervin Chakar adapts folk songs to Western music and instruments without distorting their structure. With her voice, Pervin Chakar builds a vibrant bridge between East and West.

On 27 March 2026, she will perform at 8.00 pm in the Joseph-Joachim-Saal at the UdK, Bundesallee 11, 10719 Berlin, accompanied by the wonderful Korean pianist Boram Ahn.

The concert brings together unique and unforgettable works of Kurdish culture with the most beautiful arias from the Western repertoire. It promises the audience an extraordinary musical experience and invites them to dream of a melodious journey between East and West.

At times, the listener is gripped by the sheer sorrow of laments singing of suffering and pain; at others, the hall is filled with inspiring works brimming with love and joy – a true celebration of emotions and cultural enrichment.

Pervin Chakar invites you to a unique concert, ranging from Cegerxwîn and Şêrko Bêkes, from Mozart to Lehár and Puccini, from folk songs to love songs.
