Let's go to "Hip-Hop Day," the subculture's day of action with heavy beats and a strong program! Admission is free for children, teenagers, and many more.
Under the motto "Respect Street Culture," this Sunday, interested parties can embark on a cross-generational journey into the next 50 years of the hip-hop era.
Across club sounds, graffiti, and beatboxing, a multifaceted, multi-site portrait of Berlin's hip-hop culture is being created at the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the Museum Nikolaikirche, and the Berlin Exhibition at the Humboldt Forum – co-created by Giò Di Sera, aka Don Rispetto, the artistic director of "StreetUniverCity Berlin e. V."
At the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the East West Hype Disco will bring Berlin beats to the ground floor dance floor with DJ sets and "rap to go." The special exhibition of the same name on the third floor focuses on beats in Berlin courtyards.
Giò Di Sera, aka Don Rispetto, and curator Verda Kaya tell how backyards became stages for urban youth culture. Family tours of the exhibition offer exciting insights into these hidden habitats for people of all ages.
And that's not all: Discover BerlinZEIT! On the first and second floors of the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the exhibition offers an entertaining journey of discovery through the centuries and, at the same time, a comprehensive overview of the sometimes revolutionary events in this city.
Price information: Combined ticket for all locations: €9 (Museum Ephraim-Palais, Museum Nikolaikirche, BERLIN GLOBAL at the Humboldt Forum), available on-site via QR code, at the Humboldt Forum ticket offices, or online.
