Special tour with architect Peter Westermann
How do you reconstruct a 300-year-old façade with the means and requirements of the 21st century? Architect Peter Westermann planned the facades outside, in the courtyard and in the foyer for Franco Stella and takes you on a tour of the biggest challenges and secrets.
The special tours to mark the completion of the reconstruction
Ten special tours take a look behind the façade: sustainably air-conditioned exhibition rooms, restoration workshops, event rooms and stages for theater, dance and music, freely accessible co-working spaces, playgrounds, a Japanese tea house, testimonies and original objects from the Palace of the Republic and Berlin's largest geothermal system.
The special guided tours with people involved in the construction and employees of the Humboldt Forum Foundation provide an insight behind and around the scenes of the building and thus convey an understanding of the multifaceted use of the building, which is more than a museum - and is different from what the façade might suggest.
