String Quartets by Brahms, Zemlinsky, and Iannotta
"A Failed Entertainment" was the original working title of David Foster Wallace's monumental 1996 novel Infinite Jest.
The book's radical narrative inspired the Italian composer Clara Iannotta to explore similarly experimental paths in her own music – her string quartet of the same name was written for the Quatuor Diotima in 2013. In addition to this work, the French ensemble will also perform works by Johannes Brahms and Alexander Zemlinsky.
