In her work, Berlin-based artist Nina Könnemann explores the ways in which people act and interact in public space. She focuses on marginal environments, everyday behaviors, and subcultural dynamics.

For many years, she has primarily created documentary video works that take everyday occurrences as their starting point and draw attention to the transitional zones of social events: places on the fringes of festivals, demonstrations, sporting events, or other mass gatherings, as well as the traces people leave behind in those spaces.
These seemingly inconspicuous moments are condensed by Nina Könnemann into cinematic reflections on overlooked social mechanisms, creating portraits of the present based on unofficial narratives.
