At the turn of the year, the DSO finally returns to the ring with Circus Roncalli after the pandemic break. The enchanting and spectacular New Year's Eve and New Year's concerts at the Tempodrom have long since become a beloved must for many Berliners. Since 2003, the orchestra has joined the artists in bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new year in colorful fashion with an extraordinary program in which the brilliance and poetry of the prestigious circus combine with the orchestra's magical sound to create a unique feast for the eyes and ears.

James Gaffigan, new principal conductor of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, is back on the podium of the DSO after ten years, wielding the baton of the musical tamer in the three performances. At his side, the young, intoxicating saxophonist Jess Gillam makes her debut with the orchestra.
