Neighborhood Festival at Volkspark Wilmersdorf

Along the festival route, dedicated groups, initiatives, and organizations from the neighborhood will showcase their work and invite visitors to learn more, exchange ideas, and get involved. On the lawn of the Auenkirche, there will be a variety of culinary offerings, while in the courtyard of the Haus der Nachbarschaft, a diverse stage program will provide music and a great atmosphere.

The event kicks off at 2 p.m. with the official opening by District Mayor Kirstin Bauch and the Wilmersdorf Neighborhood Network. The opening will be accompanied by a mask parade organized by the children’s workshop.

Afterward, music will carry the afternoon and evening: Starting at 3 p.m., the Salonorchester will perform salon music in the tradition of early 20th-century entertainment orchestras. At 4 p.m., JuJup will take the stage with refreshing pop-rap. Neofarius will provide a lively mix of world music, Balkan swing, and klezmer starting at 5 p.m. An hour later, The Ostrich Party takes the stage: the 13-piece brass band transforms well-known pop, disco, and techno tracks into loud, funky, and danceable brass sounds. Bastet will bring the musical program to a close starting at 7 p.m. with beats ranging from downtempo to tech house and deep house.

In addition to music and culinary offerings, the focus is above all on bringing people together in the neighborhood. The festival aims to bring neighbors together, foster connections, and showcase just how diverse and engaged Wilmersdorf is. Whether you’re with children, friends, or simply out for a stroll through the neighborhood—the neighborhood festival offers plenty of opportunities to explore, get involved, and linger.

The festival is organized by the Wilmersdorf Neighborhood Network, which now includes around 50 initiatives, organizations, and representatives from the local government.
